ABOUT

My interest in art and design began long before college. Drawing, sculpture, woodworking, and making have been lifelong pursuits that continue to shape how I approach problem-solving and the built environment. Through woodworking, bronze sculpture, sawmilling, and fabrication, I have developed a deep appreciation for how materials behave, how things are assembled, and how design ideas translate into physical construction. These experiences reinforced the importance of precision, detail, and the relationship between drawing and making.

Following graduation, I joined Dabney Studio Landscape Design in Charlottesville, Virginia, where I have continued to expand my understanding of place-based design. Working with locally sourced materials, native plant communities, and skilled contractors has strengthened my appreciation for collaboration and the landscapes that shape our daily lives.

Outside of professional practice, I seek opportunities to learn through travel, agriculture, and outdoor work. I spent a summer in Ludvika, Sweden, working on a self-sustaining farm and participating in local Midsummer celebrations. More recently, I spent a winter in Colorado working lift operations at Beaver Creek Ski Resort while pursuing my passions for skiing and fly fishing.

Across all of these experiences, I have found that I am most energized by collaborative problem-solving, material exploration, and design work that is deeply connected to place.
